Welcome back to the late 1970's/ early 1980's, to the dawn of computer gaming and the VIDEOPAC. For the uninitiated, the Philips G7000 / Magnavox Odyssey2 was one of the first computer games consoles to hit the mass market. It pre-dates the DVD, the CD, the floppy disk, even the musical cassette tape (as a game format), and instead relies on changeable cartridges. The biggest advantage of this is that game loading is instant, and to this day the vast majority still function perfectly well despite many years in lofts and under stairs. |
